Conference Purpose

Natural Beauty Summit, organized by Organic Monitor and Beyond Beauty Paris, is a cycle of international conferences that focus on natural cosmetics and sustainability.

The aim of Natural Beauty Summit is to bring together key stake-holders (cosmetic manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, packaging companies, retailers, industry organizations, etc.) and create a forum to learn and discuss the key challenges the cosmetics industry faces in the areas of natural & organic products and sustainability.

Day Two: Thursday 9 October

Session 1: Standards & Regulatory Issues
With 2008 described as a defining year for natural & organic cosmetic standards, this session gives an update on standards, certification and regulations. The session gives details on recent developments involving European harmonisation and North American natural & organic cosmetic standards. An update is also given on EU regulations for cosmetics and REACH. Other topics look at the role of industry groupings, development of fair wild collection for cosmetic ingredients and the role of nanotechnology in this emerging industry.


Session 2: Marketing Success Stories
High growth rates have attracted a flood of new entrants into the natural cosmetics market. Increasing competition is leading to market segmentation in which companies strategies are geared towards targeting specific customer and market segments. This session covers some of the important developments, giving case studies of companies that are successfully riding the natural and organic wave.
